Adjusting pressure
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 11, 2005 2:09 PM
I have a model T-39 air compressor made by Sanyu. I bought this compressor a while back as a combo deal with the Aztec a4709 airbrush at modelexpo.com. There is a pressure regulator on the compressor but I’ve never been able to figure out how it works, no instructions on how it works came with the compressor. Does anyone else have one of these compressors and figured out how the pressure regulator works. If so any help would be appreciated.

The only photo of it that I could find was not really detailed. From the photo, it looks as though the pressure gauge is horizontal on top of the moisture regulator which is where one would normally expect to find the regulator knob, clockwise for more pressure, anti-clockwise for less.

Their website did list some contact e-mail addresses. Perhaps they could help, send you a PDF or something.

Fisch90, looking at the photo link from ABARNE, your compressor doesn't have a pressure regulator, only a water trap with a sintered bronze filter and pressure gauge. Depending upon what your needs are, a mini regulator with a water trap (available at most home improvement stores) can be added. I would mount the regulator/water trap as close to your airbrush as possible. Although you have a water trap in your system already, it being mounted right at the output of the compressor makes it less effective than if it were mounted further away at your air brush.

I have the same one, what I did was goto walmart and they have a small regulator for around $14 and put that inline and dialed it down to around 8 to 10 lbs .

That seemed to work ok for me.
