airbrushing fuselage techniques...
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, July 11, 2003 7:39 PM
yeah, I know the questions don't stop! I've got "mini me" (compressor) all set up, and am now in the final stages for my debut. I've been working on a hasegawa 1/48 which will be first "victim" to be subjected to my airbrushing torture.

Anyhow, I have the fuselage pieces unassembled, and am clueless as to wether to glue them together and airbrush the whole thing, or do both parts as a separate project and then glue them afterwards. My main concern is that if I do it as both separate pieces, when I glue them, the "seam" will be noticeable as opposed to maybe doing the thing in one shot. (although it will be bigger and more difficult to do i assume...)

I'm confused... Dead [xx(]

Normally , i assembled the fuselage before painting..but before that as many of us does..., paint the cockpit details etc..etc... before painting the fuselage make sure all seams are filled, sanded etc..etc... and the seam are not noticable ..try priming along the seams line...re sand if needed and them finally shoot...

Go with the advise given by DewaPerang. It is easier to do after the model is completed. Also, to touch up the areas after, you might run into a problem of the paint not matching in color
