I've been airbrushing Gunze Sangyo acrylics with my Badger 155 Anthem airbrush ; Thinning the paint 50/50 with Isopropyl Alcohol . I'm more than happy with the results, however lately I've noticed that when I mask over Gunze gloss using Tamiya masking tape and sometimes 3M blue low tack tape , the masking tape marks the gloss finish . I don't mean it lift's the paint off , but rather it almost looks if some of the tape residue is left behind . Although it doesn't feel tacky , but you can see where the masking tape was . I always remove the tape as soon as i've finished airbrushing - the thing I like about Gunze is that it doesn't take long to dry . So recently I started building a series of U.S.Navy fighter jets with the Gull Gray over White paint scheme [H-315/316] but when I mask over the white finish to spray the Gray ,I'm left with the already mentioned dilema . Last weekend I airbrushed the H-316 over my 1/72 A-7 Corsair II
, I then let the paint dry for a whole week ; and this past saturday morning I masked off the white area , sprayed in the afternoon , when finished cleaned up the airbrush , put everything away , and then proceeded to remove the masking tape and discovered the same problem had happened again ? What is going wrong - this doesn't happen when I'm using Gunze Flat paints . Any help and advice is greatly appreciated . { I have over 20 Navy aircraft in my stash to do , with the Gull Gray over white finish , I've almost hit the wall over this problem ]. PLEASE HELP !!!! Kind regards John.
