Thanks for the quick responses! I would like the ability to paint some blotch/mottle and wave mirror (squiggle line) camo on these miniatures if I could. So the ability to make lines as small as 1/16 of an inch would be good though I might not be able to pull that off with acrylics.

Also, anyone recommend a good primer to put the thru an AB? I am going to paint some plastic miniatures and I wanted a base that isn't so heavy as to fill up all the panel lines but would be sufficient for acrylics to stick to.

Thanks again.

The Badger 360 is nice but the color cup is very small but that may not be a problem with the minitures you are painting.
I am not sure if it will spray as fine of a line as you may want either but that depends on what you are planning on doing.

Get the best of Both Worlds.. Look into the Badger Universal 360.. color cup rotates so you can use it as either a siphon feed airbrush or a gravity feed one..

I've been using mine going on 3 years now.. with no problems to date (with the airbrush itself, the user is another story lol) and its easy to clean and maintain.

Gravity fed ABs

Hi folks, new poster here. I've had an old Badger 200 that I bought back in my teens. I mainly used it for 1/48 scale aircraft. I've been wanting to start using it again though now I spend my little hobby time by painting wargaming miniatures (battletech). The old Badger isn't spraying that evenly though I haven't had time to really diagnose it to see if I have a tip or needle problem.

I have been thinking about getting a dual action AB as I have heard you can get a lot more control and it might help me with paining camo on these small miniatures. I just hope it's not too tough to learn how to use them. Anyway, I was also hoping to get a gravity model though I wanted to ask if the permanently mounted paint cups on the top of the AB make it tough to see what you are painting? Assuming they were, I thought the side mount cups would be better but there aren't many of them out there. I thought the Paasche VRS90 would be a good choice. But if the top feed cup isn't that big of a hindrance, then there are a lot of other ABs with good specs. I've especially like the specs of the Omni Matrix.

So any comments about your experience with the permanent gravity paint cups would be appreciated. I also like to use acrylics so any advice on a AB that can paint these and still maintain a fine line would be appeciated too.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any help. nch
