ModelMaster Dark Sea Blue is a pretty close match.

Yes, the same paint schemes would be applied to both type of aircraft. I don't know which paint is technically the closest match, but realistically, if you find a dark blue that "looks" right it probably is close enough.

Hey Folks

I picked up the Hasegawa French Navy F6F-5, because it was way cheap on sale, but I want to do it up as an American plane. I was wondering if the all blue Hellcats were painted in the same dark blue that the upper parts of the Corsair from the same time frame were? Also, what is the closest model paint to that color? I can get model master, testor, humbrol, tamiya, polyscale and gunge aqueous in my local area.

Thanks for the help!
