Alclad2 in Canada?
Posted by RichardI on Saturday, September 24, 2005 8:36 AM
Hey guys. As you likely know, Alclad2 cannot be shipped across the border. Us Canucks should get into the 21st century!Big Smile [:D]
Anybody know of any place here in Canada that I can get Alclad2? I'd like to give it a try.
Thanks,
Rich Cool [8D]

My LHS has a can of it, though I can't recall if it's Alclad II or not. I do know it's like $40! I've been too CS to try it, given the war stories and cost.

Do you mean that Canada won't let it in the country because of the "dangers" of metallized lacquers? Because I have a long and angry screed about the "dangers" of nanny states! Angry [:(!]

Have you tried automotive paint stores?

So long folks!

In his best Church Lady voice, he says "Nevermind" Clown [:o)]
I found it at a hobby Shop just 20 miles away. Next question is, it says on the AlcladII website that I can use future as a primer. Ever tried that?

I went to the hobby shop and the can was gone! Where the heck do you live Richard? Did you take "my" Alclad? LOL

Here's a link to Swanny's Alclad tips page. His kit building is some of the finest I've seen, and so far ahead of my level I am awed by his work. He doesn't use future as a primer but as an overcoat.

Good luck!
