I would agree that soaking in lacquer (or cellulose) thinner, and then gently scrubbing with a toothpick will work. I had the same problem with my HP-C. The nozzle surround (or whatever it's called) can be loosened and cleaned. I use a flat sided tweaser for this.

If this doesn't work, beeswax can be used to seal the joints. This is the recommendation of Iwata themselves. In the UK the airbrush company, who supply Iwata, also supply beeswax.

I have also had this problem. Poor seating, as prviously posted, appears to be the problem. What I have done is to remove the needle and polish it with 0000 steel wool. I clean the nozzle, soaking it in lacquer thinner, and then take a sharpened toothpick and polish the inside of the nozzle. Give this a try as I believe it will work for you.

Darren,

How old is this airbrush?
I was wondering if the needle bearing needs replacing?

Mike the airbrush is about 18 months old.
The thing that puzzles me is the fact that my .5mm needle (which I'm sure is the same diameter as .35mm needle) works just fine.

Darren

It may very well be the tip then.
That is a micro-tip on that airbrush which is more precise than the standard cone tips of lesser models.

It could be a seating problem with the nozzle. I have had that happen on my Anthem, which is also a "floating" cone tip airbrush.

I have a bit of a problem with my HP-CS that I'm hoping I can get some help with here.

Problem
When depressing and pulling back the trigger on my Eclipse when using my .35mm nozzle and needle combo I get air coming through but no paint (or thinner, water or whatever). I do however get loads of bubbles in the paint cup.

What I’ve done
I have cleaned everything as completely and inspected all parts for blockages (there are none). I have checked all parts for any sign of damage and cannot see any. I cannot see any visible signs of air entering the a/b from the outside. I have changed nozzle, needle and nozzle cap to my .5mm combo and everything works beautifully, with no bubbles or blockages.

The manual says that it may be a damaged nozzle, but I’m not seeing any evidence of this. Any help that anybody could give on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Darren
