Acrylics would probably be your safest bet, observing basic precautions as normal ofcourse. With enamels, I would advise anyone not to use near or around unprotected animals, and individuals. Use a spraybooth, spray outdoors, or at least near a window. As you may be aware, toxic fumes from sprayed enamels and thinners can potentionally make you sick if over-exposed, or accumulatively over time. If you can't/ don't have the afore mentioned convieniences, at least use a respirator and gloves when handling and spraying enamel paints and thinners. Keep your loved ones away from you work area while you airbrush. Just basic info, but thats my recommendation. Have fun!

Well it comes down to personal preference, as long as you excersise basic safety. Several good modeling acrylics I would recommend is, Tamiya, Polly Scale, and Testors Model Master Acryl, amoung others. These are very easy to use acrylics and are advertised non-toxic, using thinners such as water, or alcohol for airbrushing. They are inherently safe(er) than enamels and should be fine around you and you pets. Just don't let them injest it, and your related paint supplies, yourself included.Wink [;)] Research different brands on the web and in your area to check for availability and try a few brands. If you can't access the window or there is inclimate weather, I would at least wear a painting respirator. These are ususally available at your local department stores, Meijer, Home Depot, etc.. These cost approx. $30.00, depending on your area. Hope this helps!
