Help!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, July 19, 2003 5:39 AM
Just bought my first airbrush today a Paasche VL double action. I had a practise with it on some scrap material and got the result I thought I would plenty of splatering. When I started cleaning up it was a nightmare I had paint and thinner everywhere. Could someone tell me the best procedure from start to finish.

Fox,
The best thing to do is to get a book on airbrushing techniques. It would give you the basics of airbrushing. Even with a good guide, you will need to practice, practice, practice!
I got a really good guide from my local library. There have been some excellent articles in back issues of FSM also.
Holley When all else fails, read the instructions!

Desert Fox,
Here are two books that Kalmbach prints
that are available from FSM and Model Railroader.
How to Use an Airbrush by Robert Downie
Painting and Weathering Railroad Models
by Jeff Wilson
They have information on cleaning,practice
exercises weathering etc. Osprey has a good one available
but I don't remember the name at the moment. Check out
the books and keep practicing.Hope this helps.
