The tip and needle size are dependant on the paint viscosity.
For model paints like Model Master you need to use the #1 tip and needle.

I have the Paasche H airbrush that I use for all my armour modelling. I use the medium tip for doing the base coats and the fine tip for the few times that I do camo.
