Badger 150-5 set VS Highway
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 11, 2005 7:48 PM
Well..... this is a sad tale with a somewhat happy ending... It all started with the new purchase of a Badger 150 set. I was so excited to show it off to a buddy I grabbed a Dragon's Late model King Tiger kit# 6232 and the airbrush set and set off on my journey (short as it was) The problem started when i couldnt locate my wallet, ahhh, in the van... so I set the model and airbrush kit on the edge of the bed of my f150 to retrieve the wallet from the van. Well you can guess what happened. Got the wallet but forgot the model and airbrush on the edge of the bed and took off. I must say for a carboard box it hung in there a good 1/2 mile or so, untill i turned onto a major hwy. By the time I realized what had happened it was all over. Talk about millions of pieces all over the highway. I managed to find the metal parts and a few other unbroken bits. but to make it worse the airbrush didnt stay in its case. I lost all the jars but the happy thing is the brush itself and metal bits avoided being crushed. I have to think if the wood box had a latch to hold it closed it would have remained in the foam.  Anyone need some tiger parts???  Lesson learned!

Ouch!

What a lesson to learn. My 150 is in a plastic case with a spring loaded lid, I wonder if it would have survived? I sure as heck ain't trying it to see!

Those 150's sure are built Ford tough!

So long folks!

Well i can definently testify to the duribility of the 150, other than a few blemishes and a slighly bent trigger it works smooth as silk. The model didnt fair as well. Good thing it I noticed in my stash i have a Tamyia version of the same model (unbuilt of course) Guess I also just decided which i like more, dragon or tamiya, since I grabbed the doomed dragon tiger. Must be the cool metal bits. which surrivied, guess i can kit bash it more!! Woohooo! But seriously im glad the brush made it. I was sick untill i took it apart. Kinda makes me wonder how the aztek 470 i just got would have made it. I mean they ingraved the wood box with aztek but a non-break-down-able brush??? Anyways, take care of those brushes guys and slow down and enjoy life. Lesson learned for sure.

Whoa tough break for the tiger. Was it a busy highway? Not alot of things scare me but haveing to walk out on a busy road is one of them Shock [:O]  At least the airbrush survived.  The parts will get used eventually.  Do you have enough to build a burnt out or damaged abandoned KT?

It was a very busy hwy but luckly the intersection and my bad habit of cutting through the median when turning caused it to land almost in the median, well i think the brush landed on the corner and exploded the contents into the median, the model was anothe story, i looked through the parts ,the tub is there but broken and mangled, the turrent is KIA, the figures survived, Im thinking severly damaged casuality for sure. Just need to get a case for my brush now. thinking maybe a locking metal one with anti-gravity properties. Or maybe just keeping all my stuff in its place in my shop. How do i add pics to the posts?? and no I have searched yet, sorry.
