I hear many talking about retarder being used with Acrylic. What is it called and where can I get some?? Thanks bluesslide@charter.net

Any Art store will have it. It's called "Acrylic Retarder". Do a google on it and you canfind lots of different brands.

These are some common retarders available at local art stores such as Micheals, Bates Art Supply, Hobby Lobby, and your local grocery store, for the dish soap ofcourse.  You can purchase artist brands online as well at: www.dixieart.com, and http://www.dickblick.com/categories/acrylics/

If using Tamiya acrylics, they should be thinned (even for brush painting) and as luck would have it their X20A thinner is also a retarder.
