Gee, couldn't ask anything simple, like "what's the next winning lotto number", or "where is Jimmy Hoffa buried", could ya? Big Smile [:D]

174 = FS 31136 which the closest I could find is MM 1705 or Tamiya XF-7

106 = FS 36187 I can't find a match or mix anywhere. I have a Humbrol color chart and the Matt Ocean Grey they show looks (to my eye) to be similar to German Grey XF-63, but that's way too dark compared to the FS 36187. XF 53 Neutral Grey (FS 36173) is close, though lighter in appearance.

115 Russian Blue appears to be hidden real well, The Humbrol colour chart doesn't list it.   The IPMS Stockholm site shows it as discontinued. I found one reference site (http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/portland/971/reference/russian.htm) that claims FS 35352. That's not listed in the IPMS Stockholm site at all, though you can view it on their FS color Server. One site I found says Tamiya XF-21 Sky (FS 34554), but I don't seem to have that color on hand to compare, the FS color to my eye is plain wrong! XF-23 (FS 35414) with a touch of black added would be pretty close.

Hope that helps. My head hurts! Tongue [:P]

So long folks!

Paint Color Conversion / Mix Ratios??
Posted by thevinman on Sunday, December 4, 2005 7:27 PM
Hey Guys,
I'm working on an ICM Yak and the kit uses a Humbrol enamel color chart. I primarily use Tamiya and MM Acryls. Does anyone out there have (or know of) a comprehensive paint conversion chart that has more than the standard 1:1 conversions?
(There are some colors that don't seem to be available in Tamiya or MM Acryls. But, there has to be a "mix" ratio out there.)

Some of the colors I'm looking for are:
174 "Signal Red"
115 "Russian Blue"
106 "Matt Ocean Grey"
