Are you a one paint man?

i usually stick to just Tamiya and Gunze acrylics. i use enamels sometimes. i think sticking to 1 or two brands is wise since you can master everything there is to know about that brand, thus lessening critical mistakes(drytime,mixes,thinning ratios).

I use tamiya acrylic with the AB and I brush with MM enamel.

Nope, I use a variety.  I don't worry about the brand as much as getting the color I want.  I have a mixture of Model Master, Tamiya, PollyScale, and Citadel acrylics and use them all.

Same here... my enamels are all MM as they are readily available.  But in acrylics, which is mainly what I use, I have Tamiya, MM, Boyds, Floquil, Color of Eagles (Vallejo) and so on.. I do have to say the Vallejo made paints are starting to replace all the others... they are the easiest to use and most forgiving to me...

I have a mixture. I have Testors paints that came in sets that my sister bought for me for my 'day, both enamels and acrylics, I have Model Master Enamels, lacquers, and acrylics, and Tamiya acrylics. I also have many spray bomb cans of Model Master and Tamiya paints, but since I got my A/B, I don't use those much anymore. I will get whatever color I need, I don't really worry about the brand, but I am really starting to like Tamiya acrylics for airbrushing!

I use -- and prefer -- Tamiya acrylics. I don't own an airbrush.

My only gripe about Tamiya is their "metal" paints. They are horrible for brush-painting. Not only that, they don't "shine".

For my work-in-progress F-15, I'm thinking of using buffable Creos Mr Metal Color -- Burnt Iron, Iron, maybe Stainless Steel.

Anyone ever used (brushed) this paint before?

I use pretty much exclusivley acrylics mainly Tamiya, Humbrol, Polly scale, and Citadel for figures. And of course lacquers for primers otherwise thats it

I'm starting to favour Polyscale:

1. They airbrush well
2. They can be brushed on - for touch ups over air-brushed parts and also figures.
3. They are better value for money thatn Tamiya
4. Great range.

Drawbacks:

The paint description is printed on the label and always fades off. I have to put a dab of paint on the lid to identify the colour - Tamiya's lids are great like that.

I use enamels for about 95% of my painting.  I don't use one particular brand, instead prefering to pick by color.  I've got Testors (small bottle), Testors MM, Humbrol (current production and a few Authentics), and even some Pactra in large and small bottles that are still usuable.

For acrylics (used largely for weathering) I have Testors MM Acrylics and a few small bottles of Pactra Acrylics.  Plus I have access to my wife's crafts materials and can use her craft Acrylics - We've found they're great for the various buildings we've built for the little N-scale RR set up we've been piddling with - very large range of colors (sorry no named military colors) but are great for concrete, rocks, bricks etc - She has two brands over there - DecoArt Crafters Acrylic and Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint - get 'em at Hobby Lobby, Michael's and even Wal-Mart. Plus they"re cheap

Currently I'm using paints from Modelmaster, Enamel, Tamiya and Alclad.

All work really well for me and with the airbrush I'm using.

The Modelmaster colors need little or no thinning and look very good. The enamel paints are good because there is a great number of paints to choose from, and are fairly easy to thin. The Alclad paints are great chrome and metal paints, which are very easy to paint with and needs little or no thinning. The Tamiya paints are pretty much like the Modelmaster paints; they look very good and are easy to paint with.

I use a mixture of brands MM,.Polly S, Tamiya, Alclad, Val. ( In both enamels and acryl.). It just depends on what color I am going for as to what brand Im going to use.

I use Testors Model Master exclusively.

I use Model Master enamels exclusively.  However, I have been sucessfully using Tamiya acrylics for several months...and it could just replace my enamels.

I try and stick with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, mainly the former, as both brands airbrush perfectly, and Gunze especially have a huge range.

The only time I use other brands is when the colour is not available in one of the above lines.
