Compressor question
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 2, 2006 5:09 PM

Hellow everyone.

I just acquired an old, very old, air compressor, a W.R. Brown Speedy.

There is no information on it as to how much PSI it puts out, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest an airbrush I could use with it, (if it is possible to use an airbrush with it), or give me any information on the compressor that could be useful.

Since it's old, I don't know if there is anything I should consider before buying a set for it.

I was intending on buying a compressor and airbrush, but if I can use this compressor, that would be great.

Thanks alot,

Mike

You don't say what model it is.

I have an old, very old, air compressor, an Intermatic (which is a branded W. R Brown Speedy HS-410 Speedy Sprayer or variant thereof!). Until I replaced it with a "garage" style compressor (I have a need for pneumatic tools, or at least that's what I told the wife Wink [;)] ) it serve me well as my Badger 150 air source. It pumps out a whopping 21 psi! Good enough for air brushing, though not much else.

I would buy a regulator for it, and a moisture trap. You should be able to get both for under $20.

So long folks!

Thanks for the reply,

The compressor does not have any indication to what model it is on it, at least that I can find.

The only thing I will be using it for would be airbrushing, and as long is it gets me by on that, I wouldn't mind keeping my two hundred dollars.

Thanks again,

Mike
