If you can buy online do so! You can buy the Paasche VL at Dixie art for $45 US. Even if the exchange rate was 25% (which it isn't) and the shipping was $50 (which it shouldn't be!), that's only $106 CDN. There shouldn't be duty as it's made in the US, and we're supposed to duty free. Another lie our governments told us!

My recommendation (as a newbie to airbrushes and proud owner of one) is the Badger 150 Medium but here's a real deal from Bear Air for only $66.50 US:

This gives you all three needles and head assemblies (fine, medium and heavy, the heavy being pretty well excess for modeling!), a braided hose, a color cup, two bottles (one with the fast blast tip) so you're pretty well good to go. Attach a decent compressor and you're off!

So long folks!

Paasche VL Opinions Please

I'm looking at a higher quality replacement for my Aztec A470.  I perused my LHS today  and found a Paasche VL kit for $130.  Certainly looks like a more capable brush anyway.

So how well does it spray?  Good for fine lines?  Easy to disassemble and clean?  Tips and needles last a fairly long time?

Unfortunately,  he didn't have a Badger,  and his Iwata was way out of my price range at over $300 (beautiful looking brush though).  I suspect his prices may be a bit high compared to some online places I've checked out.  I guess that's the perk to being the only guy in town who sells airbrushes...Disapprove [V]
