Revell Germany Paint Colors
Posted by TheKelev on Saturday, January 14, 2006 11:09 PM

I am building the Queen Mary 2 kit and would like to know how to obtain a color chart for the Revell Germany paint colors specified in the instructions, and also if possible the equivalent Model Master, Humbrol, or Testors colors.

These two links supply almost every substitute for the major paint companies:

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts_2.asp

http://www.airmodel.sk/english/topcolor.html

And this one has some great discussion about accuracy, scale effect and military colours listed by nation:

Bgrigg:

The "airmodel" website you list does not work.  I got a page with eight stacked images. Clicking on any of the brands listed at the top of the page generates an error message.  Can you supply the correct URL for this information?

The other web site (ipmsstockholm.org) is helpful but fails to give the Model Master equivalents of many of the Revell colors in question.

Gary,

Unfortunately that Airmodel site has been like that for about 4 months now. I have tried contacting the webmaster or host without any luck. Too bad, as it filled in the (many) blanks IPMS Stockholm has.

Here's a website that is sponsered by Hometime-Hobbies that compares various manufacturers against Humbrol, you must then compare the Humbrol to the brand you want.

Good luck!

Bill
