You cannot mix enamels and acrylics together. Acrylics are water based and enamels (more or less) oil based. It's as true here as anywhere else, oil and water don't mix. However, you can paint over any paint with any other paint as olng as the first paint is dry. This works best when airbrushing. I routinely fire a coat of Dullcoat laquer over figures painted in Andrea/Vallejo acrylics with no ill effects.

Is the Humbrol an acrylic? If so than Ajlafleche is right, they can't be mixed. Sorry, I didn't think about that, I guess I just assumed the Humbrol was enamel?
