hey! haven't seen you in awhile... Alclad's site mentions both primer and future as undercoats for their non-shiny metallics. Here is a copy and paste from their site with directions:

Apply one of these primers before using Regular ALCLAD:
Tamiya Plastic Primers-white or grey
Auto Primer-white or grey
Future/Klear -floor sealer/polish
Plastic primers and auto primers should be lightly polished with 1000/1200 wet & dry paper to give a less absorbent glossy surface

I've used Future so far on 3 NMF kits with great results. The next one I am going to do I will start with a black acrylic undercoat and then future and see if the results are even better. I thin the future about 3:1 with Tamiya acrylic thinner, spray it on in coats till it is like a mirror and then alclad after curing a few days. I've had no probs with the Alclad eating through the surface at all.
I did use MM black on a P-47 once and it worked ok. I tend to like the future better though. I also tried the Alclad primer and HATED it! 2 months later it was still tacky and left fingerprints if touched!
