Alternatives to future?
Posted by Mindless on Friday, January 27, 2006 8:22 AM
Everyone seems to give Future alot of credit when it comes to priming and sealing decals and so on. So I've become quite interested in this product. Since I live in Sweden where they don't sell Future, I've been looking around on eBay for it, but all I could find was discount cupons which is totally worthless to me.

So now that eBay was of now use to me, I wonder if someone knows of an alternative (with the same properties as Future) that exists in europe, or best of all, somewhere in Sweden.

Any help is most welcome.

Yeah, I've read on Swanny's site, and that's infact the place that really made me want to check Future out but there wasn't any alternative product from Sweden, only some other european countries.

How big is that can from greatmodels.com though? And do they ship worldwide?

Oh, and thanks alot for the site. Smile [:)]

The can's from great models are small. I think they tell you how many ounces you get in the two sizes.(Personally, I think it's a rip-off, since they are just repacking the stuff. If it makes you feel better, you are really paying for the badger bottles they come in.)

Great models is a HUGE store. I don;t see whay they wouldn't ship internationally. Give them a call or email to confirm.

I also found some on amazon.com:

I wonder if they can ship it overseas? I know most paints they can't. If you want to find out if it can be shipped over seas Mindless, I will run to the discount store tomorrow and pick up a bottle and ship it to you if you want. I think it only runs a few dollars and shipping wouldn't be anymore than $5, I wouldn't think? Its up to you.

If it's not a problem for you then that would be absolutely great. How would I pay though? Money transfer? PayPal?

Oh well. Send me a mail to razeal__88@hotmail.com (silly mail, had it since 5th grade and I graduate from school completely next year...)

And again, thank you for the trouble if you really want to do that for me! Smile [:)]

You can ship future overseas for sure.. I shipped about 5 bottles to Australia this summer with no prob.  (At that weight shipping was a bit high but with one bottle it shouldn't be bad)

I was also surprised at the GM price (extrapolated, the price for the future from them was the equiv of $36.00 for a full bottle)  of course you do get the Iwata bottle with it, if you opt for the Badger bottle it would be $60.00 a bottle for the stuff!  I've been in the wrong business obviously!  I'm going to become a Future floor wax vendor!  Wink [;)]

I don't think Future would be a problem shipping international since it is acrylic and doesn't have a solvent to speak of.   The Alclad would be another story and would have to go via slow boat to Sweden.   The problem is putting solvent based anything in a pressurized cabin.

It's sold in Norway under the "Clear" name.  Is there no way you can order it from there?

So long folks!

Does anybody use Testors Glosscoat anymore or has that pretty much gone by the wayside?
