Aztec Nozzle for Spraying Enamels
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 24, 2006 2:30 AM
Hi,

I've just recently started airbrushing using an aztec airbrush.

I only spray with enamels at the moment and want to spray large areas like car bodys, I've tried using the grey nozzle as the aztec set I have does not come with a nozzle for covering large areas using enamels

Is it possible to use one of the nozzles designed for acrylics with enamels or do I need to buy the correct nozzle?

What nozzles do you use for particular application?

One more question... Any recommendations for a good value spary booth available in the UK?

Thanks in advance.

When I had mine. All I used was the Gray and Tan Nozzle. It didn't matter what paint I put through it as long as it was thin enough it would shoot it. They are rated for shooting Lacquers as well as acrylics.

Using the others only rated for Acrylics. I think they would shoot fine, but they may not be able to hold up to the enamel thinner or cleaning solvent you would use to clean them. After a while they may dissolve on you.

The only thing you may want to keep in mind is at some point you may have to pull the nozzle itself apart to clean it. It says that you do not have to do this, but after a time or 2 paint will start to build up on the spring and hinder the spray quality of the nozzle. At least they did on mine.

As for the paint booth I really can't say. I only use Acrylics now and don't really have a need for one yet. At least that is what I am told by SWMBO. The box and open window I use is just fine for the moment  Sad [:(]
