As you roll that knob you will see the trigger move backward.
You can set it that way to act like a single-action airbrush with a preset amount of paint coming out.

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

Paasche VL knurled thumbwheel function?

Just bought a Paasche VL double-action airbrush, which is a fabulous inprovement over my former simple Paasche single-action, but it has a tiny knurled control, a lateral wheel-like thing, just forward of the push/pull air-control button.  Damned if I can figure out its function from turning it back and forth, and there's nothing about it in the printed material that accompanied the brush.

What is its function, and how do you use it?
