Hi Greg,
I just re-read your replies to Mike V.'s queries on Tamiya paints, in which you advocate the use of Denatured Alchohol ("DNA"). Do you use this as a thinner for the paint? What has been your optimum mixing ratio, or does this vary by reflectance (eg. more for gloss, less for flat). Also, if I have not misread the thread, do you also use "DNA" to clean your airbrush/accessories? Would DNA also work for Gunze Aqueous paints? Have you (or anyone else) used "DNA" with Modelmaster or Valejo paints? Sorry for all the questions, just been having problems with all acrylic paints lately: tip dry with Valejo metallics thinned with Valejo thinner; Gunze paints not thinning well or "gunking up" (for lack of a better term); lack of coverage by various manufacturers paints. If it helps I am using an Aztek 4709 with a Testors blue compressor (not the mini but the next step up). I also have a Paasche VL (?) double-action but to date have not used the later as I do not know if the compressor has enough "oohmppf" to drive it, plus I am a little afraid of really goofing it up.....-sigh- Thanks very much in advance for your help!
