With enamel I would wait at LEAST 48 hours to sand that drip, as the paint is thicker there it will take longer than the body to harden and cure... otherwise you might get to the tootsie pop middle in the course of sanding it (the still mushy paint)  That's the only way I would know to correct the problem.  You might try using a nail sanding board to work at just the raised area of the drip first until it gets close to being flush with the body.  With a regular sheet of sandpaper I would worry about hitting the area surrounding the drop a few too many times and creating a low spot around that area.

Drip problem...help please

I airbrushed the first coat on my big 1/72 B-36 today. the plane is so big that I have it hung vertically to paint it.......My first model in a long time so I'm out of airbrush practice. I thinned the mix a little too much and have some drips. I use Testors MM enamel (steel-aluminum mix) . I will sand the drips when hard with increasing fine paper up to 2000.

Any tips on how long MM takes to harden, or how you folks fix a drip problem like this????

Luckily its not all that bad. Thanks
