I've had pretty good luck sanding, cleaning, etching with vinegar, and then painting with Tamiya acrylics, without a solvent based primer.

Ross Martinek A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing… Wink

metal primer?

I have a turned metal barrel for a model that I am going to paint with acrylics. I have done this before without priming and the paint scratched off easily. What type/brand of primer should I use so I can topcoat with Tamiyas acrylics?  Greg
