I use a badger 155 and 100 fine. the 100 is a fine tip airbrush. My 155 with a fine tip produces just as fine a line as my 100. I mostly use only the 155 now with the exception of small painting jobs. I use the 155 with a fine tip for pre shading and after painting to add exhaust and gun smoke shading. I do all my freehand camoflage with it also. There are smaller cups availible for the 155 as well.
Take this plastic and model it!

Go for the Sotar, it's the finest line airbrush out there. Wink [;)]

I have a Paasche VL, Badger 100 XF Sidefeed, 155, 150 (with large, medium and fine heads), 360, and an ancient Thayer & Chandler Type A sidefeed.

I bought the two sidefeeds 2nd hand, uncleaned, but with spares. I have no idea of the age of the T&C, but it sprays the finest line of all my brushes, based on a comparison I did the other day with some GS acrylic, at 20psi. I'm not saying I'm not going to use other brushes, but I intend to use the T&C and Badger 100 for enamels, and the others for acrylics, because the T&C and 100 only cost me $25.

My advice would be to look for a 2nd hand, high-quality brush. I suspect (but I may be wrong) that the T&C might have been constructed to finer tolerances than today's brushes.

I would recommend the medium tip and needle for most work and you can order a fine tip and needle to experiment with but they are small.

Not trying to start an Azteck war but how come I don't read much/anything on the forum about the Sotar? I often see them heavily discounted compared to the MSLP?   Greg

Good question.
I think because people have been programmed to look at Iwata Microns these days is why the Sotar is overlooked. The reason they are discounted so much is because Badger had to put a high price on them so that the consumer would perceive it as a top notch airbrush which it is, but if you list it for half the price of a Micron then the unknowing public perceives it as less of a precision instrument.
