Nope, not your technique, the paint. It skins over almost immediately, looking like it's cured, but the paint below is still wet. The new paint dissolves the skin, causing the paint below to loose adhession to the surface. This brand has been acting this way for th epast 10 or so years. The original formula was great for brush painting. No barriers or techniques will stop this form happening.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

No, your not missing anything. Tamiya acrylics seem to want to lift the first coat for some reason? Make sure your first coat is completely dry, that will help, maybe overcoat it with an enamel clear? Tamiya paints are great for airbrushing, but they are a real pain to brush on, I never had any luck anyway!

Hi All,

 

I was doing some brush painting detail with Tamiya acrylic over spray painted MM Acryl. Could not get the Tamiya to adhere - even a second coat lifted the first. Am I missing something here?
