Airbrushing..... hey.......
Posted by jwb on Sunday, May 28, 2006 2:47 PM
So last week I posted grrrrr...... after my first airbrush attempt.

This week...... hey.......

My little test bed, an F6F Hellcat, now has several shades of blue and purple, with a swirl or two on it. And the box I use as my paintbooth now has my name painted in it, and some swirls, and a square and something that looks like an alien.

So for those who have not yet tried airbrushing......

Be prepared to practice. Practice. Patience. Patience and practice.

But it can be done! ;-)

Exactly Jon. Smile [:)]
We spend years developing techniques to make our models look great when we build them and then expect to become a master on the airbrush in a couple of weeks.
It just doesn't work that way. Wink [;)]
It takes time for the brain and the index finger to work together and sometimes that doesn't work as well as you want even after using airbrushes for 12 years as I have. Laugh [(-D]

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

Cool Jon!  yeah it feels good when you sit back and look at something you just did... even in practice that worked out better than ya thought...  I have a milk jug full of scribbings done with the 5 airbrushes I have bought since coming back... everytine I run out of room I just primer a side because a lot of my builds are something new I haven't tried yet... pretty soon it's gonna way 10 pounds empty just from the primer on it!  Wink [;)]

It's been quite a while since I've used an airbrush, but I know this....I'm constantly learning with it! Practice does make perfect, and just when you think you've achieved the perfect results, go back and practice again...and again. It only gets better.

Picking up an airbrush for the first time can be a bit intimidating and even frustrating, but in the end it's all worth it!Wink [;)]
