Pollyscale flat clearcoat questions
Posted by TB6088 on Monday, May 29, 2006 5:14 PM

Based on an earlier comment on this forum I ordered some Pollyscale flat clearcoat for the first time as an alternative to Testor's Dullcote, which is the only clearcoat that seems to come out dead flat for me.  I received my order and have a couple of questons:  The stuff is white, not clear, is that normal?  Pollyscale sells a thinner (in a large expensive bottle) which I didn't buy, since it says it can also be thinned with distilled water. Does distilled water really work that well, and what would a proper thinning ratio be-- the instruction say to thin only 10-15% with distilled water?  Any alternative thinners that work well with Pollyscale?  Thanks,

Yes, white is normal.

It's already thin as water in the bottle, why would you want to thin it any more?  It will spray quite well straight from the bottle at less than 10 psi.
