Drilling a hole in the adapter as you are talking about is for pressure relief purposes.

With your air compressor you have a regulator and it is auto -on/off, so no need to drill the hole.

Why would you need or want to drill a hole in the adaptor?

The instructions with that adapter say to drill a hole in it in some cases.  Can't remember exactly when or how big, but basically it's for compressors that don't have regulators or a bleeder.  It serves as a bleeder to prevent the compressor from pneumatically locking up.

diaphragm or tank or piston compressor?

I bought an Airbrush City compressor #121 ACN, and a Badger 200 brush. It required me to get a 50-023 adaptor for the hose to fit the brush. Do I need to drill a hole in this adaptor for use with this compressor and brush? Is the 121ACN a non-tank or diaphragm or piston compressor? ? Thanks.
