Compressor Question
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 3:09 PM

Ok All,

Not taking money into consideration too much, when choosing a new compressor for AB work. What compressor would be good for over all work like doing models, T-shirts, auto-graphics etc...an all around compressor that'll handle it all, with spec's like being silent, wheels for portability, 5 gal tank or larger and can grow with you without having to buy another one later on.

Some of the compressor's I'm looking at now are the "Terry Hill" model 50-T-Aire, Sil-Air 100-24 and also the Great White Shark.  I'm open to all suggestions and Thanks in advance.

Robert

P.S. For those who have read my latter saga, I'm getting a run around with BearAir with the famous I'll call you back. When they do I'm requesting a full refund on the past two damaged compressor's and will find another company to deal with. My sweet wife has opened the purse strings for now and said to get the best.

I have an older (1991) Werther Int'l Silent (oil) compressor that I wouldn't trade for anything. It's louder spraying air than it is filling, requires very little oil, has needed next to no maintenance (about 2" of silicon tape on a thread) and has been a dream to use. I'm on my second regulator/filter and expect another decade and then some out of it.

Good stuff.

        Thanks guys,

I think I'm going to get the Iwata-Medea Great White Shark, after looking at a few Jun-Air and others for around 2 grand plus, the Shark has some good features and the price isn't bad and the sweet wife has no problems even if I wanted the Jun-Air, I is indeed a lucky guy.

One thing for sure, UPS sucks...they damaged two Trillion-Air compressors in transit and to top it off, another package that I had coming was delivered across town to someone else and they swore they delivered it to me. They are supposed to pick it up from whoever signed for it and redeliver it to me tomorrow 7-6-06. If anything is missing or the box is openned they'll be hearing from me again.
