Just another quick question for you all

I just got this giant and I am determined to do it justice , most of the paint scheme is within my little hands of concretes abilites , but the wood effect need for the deck in the cargo bay , how do you do it ? do you use clear paints of different tones and built it up ? , It s terrible I know but I have never even done a wooden prop before so I m a little at a loss

wood is pretty easy once you get the hang of it\

first paint it a light tan/brown.i use Model Master enamel Italian Sand ,after that dries, coat it with Future to get it glossy

when that is dry take a wide flat brush with some Winsor&Newton Burnt Umber artists oil and brush it in the direction of the grain,,,,,,it needs to dry for several days,,,after that add another coat of future ,and when dry dull coat it
