Metal finishes
Posted by mooseman on Monday, July 10, 2006 5:17 PM

Confused [%-)] I need help - I am looking for an article that I'm sure I saw in FSM recently but certainly within the last two years which I can no longer locate in my issues.  It discussed and gave advice on the different types of paints and such like that produced a metal finish available today from hobby shops.  Have I imagined such an article or does it exist and can anyone remind of of which issue I can find it in?  In anticipation of some one putting me out of my confused state - thanks one and all - Mooseman

I don't have the issue number, but I would say that Alclad 2 is probably going to be the tops on that list.  It is best applied to either the Alclad primer or even the cheap Krytex Gloss Black primer you can buy at Wally World.  Hope that helps!
Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player. Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come, but when it does, be prepared to run the bases.

Ditto on the Aclad2, also Floquil "Old Silver" gives a good aluminum surface for NMF planes...

Thanks "guys"

At least I know I was imagining the article and can stop looking.

Till next time...
