I've never tried to mix them, but have got really good results from laying different types over each other. I'd be a little concerned with how the different bases could interact, so you may want to go so far as to contact Alclad directly through the website...

Could you elaborate a little on how you go about laying two colors on top of another? Do you have to thin the second color really well and spray at really low pressure?

I don't mean to speak for anyone else, but I have "mixed" alclad on the model. Simply apply very thin "mist coats" until the color you wish is acheived. In other words, let's say you want dark aluminum, but not has dark as the parent color. Just shoot the panel with a dust coat of the darker color and then reload with polished aluminum or chrome and make a light pass until you are happy. The brighter color let's the darker come through creating a metallic contrast.

somewhere on the alclad site I saw that you can mix the non-shiny mettallic colors but not the shiny or prismatic colors... I'll see if I can find the link...

Last Sunday I mixed Titanium Gold with Airframe Aluminum to attempt to get a titanium pitot tube that was more silver.  Worked fine.
