Need Help Painting Missles

Do you have anyway to post a picture of the missle you painted? It will be easier to point out what you need to do, or do diffrently if we know what part is giving you trouble. A basic rundown would be, or for me anyway, paint it your desired color. Then, if there is striping and you have decals, try to use those, but if not, brush painting is usually easier to do fine detail work with than an airbrush or spray can. If there is a panel line at the striping, to mark it out, use that as your guide and just take your time. It can be a bit of a pain in the rear at times, but if you practice, and take your time, you will get pretty good at it. Sorry I couldn't be anymore help.

What part of the missle. the front , the back, the middle or the hole thing ?

And what eizzle said, can you post some pics of them ?

i'm afraid there is just no way for me to post any pics of my work at this time.  i'm stuck on a really slow computer and a dial up connection.  not even a USB port to speak of.  i can see how it might be difficult to give advice without any sort of reference.  i would have to say the whole thing though. 

 

currently i'm about to start painting some sidewinders.  any thoughts on how to paint the seekers in the nose?

OK np at all I know all about dial up.... I have Cable now LOL.....

What are you painting it with, an A/B or Rattle Can ?

Are you using the right color paint ?  " Sorry had to ask that "

Did you sand them and put a coat of primer on them ?

I am working on Missles for my F4U-1D Corsair now and I just primed them and I used my A/B to put the 1st coat on Light Grey on them. Here look.....

You also got to think, maybe it will look better when there are on the jet.

With out seeing them it is hard to say.

If so I was told but never tryed it yet. Dip the tip of the nose into the bottle of paint to where you want that color to be and let it dry like that with the nose pointing down.

Just a thought, if you dip the nose in paint and let it dry nose down, won't you end up with a big glob of skinned over paint on the tip? IMHO, I would just mask a line and paint it with a brush or airbrush. I'm not saying your wrong Dubau, I just wanted to offer another opinion. Sorry if I sounded snotty.

No np at all every tip helps in some way. As I said I never tried it but I read that somewhere.

i've got four of em to paint, so i'll give all your tips a try and let you know how i turn out.
