Has there been an article comparing compressors recently? A quick look at the archive suggests the last article along those lines was by Paul Boyer back in 1989!
The reason I ask is because I'm getting to the point where I'm improving in competence with an airbrush, and I'm using enough canned air for it to become expensive and inconvenient to replace them on a regular basis.
I appreciate getting your hands on a good range of kit to test can be difficult, but it might be timely for such an article as airbrushing continues to grow in popularity.
It might be too late for me to benefit from it, but with so many products available (and a new line-up from Revell), I'm sure many people would find it helpful.
In the meantime, if anyone has any (UK-oriented) suggestions for products and vendors, I'm all ears! I don't spray more than a couple of hours a week, and am weaning myself onto acrylics and off Humbrol enamels for all but detail work.
I don't think my budget will stretch to the most expensive models of compressor, but I was wondering if the cheaper and basic ones (e.g. the Revell starter class) would be value for money, or if it would be a bad investment - and whether things like water traps and air tanks are really necessary for casual airbrushing.
