Mixing part 2: Flat Earth and Chrome Silver?
Posted by Bones-coa on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 7:41 PM
I asked already about two colors Tamiya had me mixing. Here's another one. This color is supposed to be applied to the engine block of the same motorcycle. The few pics I've found have the engine being either black or bare metal (steel color). Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thanks again for the help.

Bones,

Go with whatever looks right to your eye, or the reference pics you have.
Since it's a racing bike, they are rebuilt frequently and usually don't bother with paint. Although, painting a 1:1 engine flat black usually results in a 10 degree drop in heat. (Used to race - many moons ago)

Dana,
Mixing those would produce a rust color, though I can't imagine why the block would be painted that color.
