Ditto.  It's a bit of extra work, but worth the effort.  Landing gear oleos and various hydraulic rams really pop with the Alcad Chrome.

If you can find it, Testors produces a chrome in the small square bottles that works very well for the chromed (or polished) area of landing gear oleo struts especially in 1/72 scale.  On those rare occassions I do a 1/48 or larger model, I use the "Chrome" Bare Metal Foil.

go out and pick up a spray can of testors chrome decan it into a spare bottle you dont need alot wait till all the gas bubbles are gone and brush it on where ever you need it. the metalizers really need to be airbrushed,but for such small area as the pistons i usually wrap them with a piece of bare metal foil....very realistic
