roadhawg-I sometimes paint the canopy attached to the plane, more often than not, I paint them seperatly.  I always dip the canopy in Future and let it dry/cure for a couple days min.  I don't use BareMetal Foil, but Tamiya tape.

Swanny has some good stuff on Future & masking under tools & tips.

Clearcoating windows

Hi everyone. I`m a car modeler that has recently gained an interest in civilian aircraft. I have a question about clearcoating. Since aircraft are painted AFTER the windows are glued in, should I paint, unmask the windows, then clearcoat with Future? My first attempt was to clearcoat THEN unmask the windows, but the masking (Bare Metal foil) was difficult to remove and left an unsightly edge. Since you guys dip canopies in Future, my thought is that clearcoating the entire model....windows and all, would work, but like I say, I`m new to aircraft.  Oh, the model in question is a 1/48 Jet Ranger helicopter. Thanks for any advice, and I hope this makes sense.
