look on the chart I posted for dark green and dark earth etc.. they are in the standard RAF names in the left side column - look to the right for the Vallejo number in Model Air, that will give you the Model Air color and from that you can either use model air or get the bottle and try to match to model color...

 good luck!!!

edit --- Dark Green shows as #12 in Vallejo Model Air and Dark Green as #29

I just came back from the LHS and they didn't carry tamiya, the AS is in spray cans but are not imported to Finland at all (according to the LHS).

No it would be nice to get a color code for the colors used by RAF in the far east, mainly the the Dark Green and the Dark earth used main camo colors on the top side of the aircraft. Any other manufacturers color codes would help.

Thanks, I'm going to the LHS today to have a look at the colors and try to match the tamiya with correct vallejo color. Michael

wow... I havent posted on here in a looooong time!!!

I use Vallejo Model Air almost exclusively (LOVE IT!!!) and here's a compendium a fellow FSM'r here (Darson) put together on the Vallejo line along with cross references to other lines...

http://www.geocities.com/tho9900@verizon.net/Vallejo_Paint_Inventory.htm

You can download it in Excel format at:

http://www.box.net/public/yr1yu0cj2l#main

hope that helps!!!  I found it really helpful for me so I dont have to look at all those colors in the LHS with a bottle of MM or whatever in my hand trying to compare it to the Vallejo colors.

Another option is the Aircraft Colors line from Color of Eagles which is also made by Vallejo and marketed by a company in Miami... the standard names are on the labels..  "RAF Dark Green" etc...  if your LHS doesnt carry them, Squadron carries them as Aeromaster colors and Great Models as "Color of Eagles" if you do a search,,,

Hello chap

I suppose that AS is for airspray ? In such case I suggest you find the equivalent in X or XF if it exists. Hope it will help you a little.

Thank you all for coming José

Needing color codes for Vallejo
Posted by smoffo on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 1:17 PM

Hi

I'm building a Tamiya Brewter Buffalo and I'm using Vallejo model color. Most of the colors are easy to match using the conversion tables on the vallejo site but a few are missing. It would be nice if sombody could help with the following colors

Tamiya AS-9 Dark Green (RAF)

AS-12 Bare-Metal silver

AS-22 Dark earth (RAF)

Are there any close colors in the vallejo range (model color, model air) Or should I get them from tamiya?

 Regards

Michael
