help
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 12, 2007 5:15 PM

After years of having a pleasant diversion, and of talking, and of wanting......

I finally have the funds and permission to get myself a decent airbrush instead of playing with the cheap little $25 jobs you get at K mart.

Could someone recommend a good, double action airbrush to be used for wide area and detail painting. I am looking at a price cap of around $150. (I can probably swing a little over that but not much).

Thx.

I have had a Badger 250, Badger 350, Badger 200 ( old style), Iwata HP-B,  Iwata HP-C and an Iwata Revolution. My advice would be to investigate a Badger 100LG or an Iwata Eclypse. Check out Dixie Art supply for prices. Also think about ordering acessories at the same time to avoid additional shipping charges. You will probably want some extra needles and tips. I like a braded line. Think of  any adaptors you might need to hook up the airline to a compressor. Talk to their customer service, they should be able to answer your specific questions.Make a Toast [#toast]  Greg.

I recommend a Thayer & Chandler Omni 4000—good all around, a dream to clean. Fine lines to wide area without changing a needle. I also recommend DixieArt. Buy a spare tip and needle, and some needle juice "Regdab" whatever brush you buy.
