I'm using Tamiya acrylic paints for my models and no matter how I'd tried in the past from

reducing compressor pressure, using Tamiya acrylic thinner, reducing the distance ..etc, I suffered the what so-called "orange peel". Guess what, no more, after searching and reading

the forum, I went to Michaels and bought a bottle of Liquitex Slow-Dri for 4 bucks. I added a drop of this magic subtance to the mixing jar and started painting. Wow, I got a smooth, silky

surface that I can only get with enamels before. No more "orange peel" , no more drying tips ...

I'm so happy ... thanks a lot for all of your advises and contributions to this forum. I just want

to share my experiences.

This may seem like a pretty basic question, but how long does the Liquitex Slow-Dri add to the drying time?  The thing I like about Tamiya is the fast drying time........

It helps the paint to level and gives a smoother finish yet still dries to the touch in about 5 mins. Tamiya flat acrylic paints usually dries before hitting the plastic surface, resulting in a rough, sand paper like finish, but I don't have this problem anymore after using Liquitex Slow-dri.
