I've only ever used MM enamels; grew up with enamels (Pactra; what happened to them?) so that's all I know. They work really well when they're new, but they tend to get globby the older they get. Still looking for a good thinner to use.

I've found the same problem with a number of Testors enamels. In particular, there is a shade of dark red that turns to near-tar consistency within a month of the bottle being opened. Their default gloss yellow enamel also has this problem.

I've also found that the Testors "Rust" suffers from serious thinner/base seperation issues over time.

I use Model Master Acryl for brush painting.  Works great for me.

I use Vallejo Model Color, the color palette is nice, it dries to a very nice matte and it even smells good. For some shades I also have some GW/Citadel paints, which are pretty much inferior to Vallejo in all conceivable ways.
