I highly recommend Tamiya tape. They can get expensive compared to blue painters tape, so on large surfaces, I'll edge with Tamiya tape and fill in larger areas with blue tape.

Like Jon, I also use the blue painter's tape (in addition to Tamiya's masking tape and Scotch brand frosted clear tape), but I keep my Parafilm handy as well because I like the way it masks surfaces with tricky curves.

I've been using blue masking tape with very good results. You have to burnish the edges very well, but other than that it's pretty straight forward.

I haven't used Parafilm, but I've heard good things about it.

Hey All,

I am just getting back into model building after years of taking off. What is the prefered medium for masking while painting now-a-days? I used to use regular masking tape and Parafilm and still have 3/4ths a roll left once that is gone any advice on what I should get my hands on? prethx for the advice and tips.
