Need some RLM help......
Posted by Wulf on Sunday, February 4, 2007 11:46 AM

I'm doing my first 190A mottle job and I'm having trouble finding these colors online. The ones I've checked don't have these. Using MM acrylics only. Here is what I'm looking for:

1. dark gray (dunkelgrau) - need RLM number or similar color

2. field blue (feldblau) - need RLM number or similar color

3. German grey (Deutsches grau) - need RLM number or similar color

Thanks all....

You need RLM 74 & RLM 75 for your upper greys and RLM 65 for the lower color (and RLM 02 was often used as splotching on the sides - check your references). I believe MM Acrylics has all those colors.  I've never seen an RLM reference for Feldblau - that's the field color for Luftwaffe field uniforms (the Wermacht color was Feldgrau).  However, I believe MM Acrylics carries that color under that name.  Can't help you with German Grey because I've never heard of it.

Perhaps the model kit has provided a generic name for 'Deutsches Grau/German Gray'. Germans had a lot of grey colors - this is all in addition to the RAL Grau colors.

RLM 02 RLM Grey

RLM 63 Light Grey (lichtgrau)

RLM 66 Black-Grey (schwartzgrau)

RLM 74 Grey-Green (grungrau)

RLM 75 Grey-Violet (mittlegrau)

RLM 77 Light-Grey (hellblau)

RLM 92 Cockpit Grey

Peace,

John
