Name me a plastic cleaner
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 4, 2007 5:41 PM
Squadron--and most other mail-order merchants--has the most useless search engine.  Unless you know the exact name for something, you can't find it.  Plastic cleaner, Plastikleen, Plasti-clean, Plasty Klean...I cannot find a plastic cleaner using their search engine, and I can't imagine they don't carry one.  Can somebody tell me the exact name and spelling and/or manufacturer of a good liquid that is wiped onto plastic to clean it before spray-painting?

Can't name a cleaner like you describe, but I was the parts in warm soapy water before starting, and then before painting I give it a rub down with rubbing alchohol. That has worked pretty good for me.

Stephan,

Polly S Plastic Prep is what you are looking for – you can order it direct from Testors Web site. It's listed under Finishing Supplies - Solvents page.

Hope this helps.
