I picked up a bottle of thier "Military Insignia Blue" and found that it's a pretty close match to  the blue in the USAF stars and bars insignia when your decal comes apart and you need to patch it.

Question:  Are these paints Laquer? Enamel? Acrylic?  I'm not sure what method to use with them.  I've looked all over on the bottle, but was unable to locate any reference to the type of paint.  What can you use as thinner with these?

It looked to be about twice the size of anything you would get from testors (though i didn't look at the amount in each container) for both in the bottles and in the rattle can. The candy colors i could do with out. Usually when i do cars, i'd prefer to do one of the die cast models you would get from Ertl- only because i prefer the 1/18 scale. Only downside is that the painting is already done, so detailing usually is pretty minimal.

But with planes and such, i'm not sure what all i would use the candy colors for. But i do know and see that they do have some military colors in they're lineup. I'm wondering how they compare to Testors and others. I wonder if anyone would be willing to venture their opinion on HOK?

Warmest regards,

Roger

Wow!!! HoK Paints at Wally World!!   totally unusual, its a unique line of Kandys etc.

I would suggest a visit to thier site www.houseofkolor.com for more info on the line. There are some Kolors that are usable by hobbyists but this full size stuff, so the flaKes would be huge on a 1/25 car. How big were the bottles/ spray cans?

For the most part, i've really only used Testors or Tamiya paints in times past, so i'm not familiar with this particular line of paints. But running through Walmart earlier this evening (for something totally unrelated) i went to go check out what little model supplies they had. All they had in the way of paint was a few candylike colors from HOK. Now, i dunno if i would ever use em myself, but i'm wondering if anyone else uses them? Any thoughts/ opinions? Just curious here...

 Thanks!

Warmest regards,

Roger
