Airbrushing again.

2 quick questions, One what is the advantage of airbrushing it seems alot harder and costlly than a spray can I have always used Krylon whenever possible and happy but want to see what the hipe is all about with airbrushing.lol Now the questions.
One what kind of paint is best and cheapest. lol
and 2 How long does a less say 1 gallon pancake compressor last I dont want to have to replace it every 1 year.

Advantages:

  • Versatility - With a single instrument you can have a spray pattern as narrow as a few millimetres, and as wide as several centimetres. A spray can has a fixed spray pattern and you need to mask extensively to paint smaller areas.
  • More versatility - You are not limited to the colours available in spray cans. You can use any of a wide variety of hobby paints and/or mix your own custom colours.
  • Generally speaking, an airbrush will provide finer atomisation of paint than a spray can. This provides a much smoother finish.
