I think you've answered your own question.
The Paasche D500 sells for $119 delivered from Dixie Art, and is a far superior compressor. Harbor Freight have a few models that are in between the Testors and the Paasche in price and look to be pretty decent in quality. Airbrushes are only as good as their air supply.
