Air Bubbles in MM Acrylic

I would be first to blame the paint. I would try stirring it with a wood stick and see if that stops the bubbles. If it does not I would return the paint. It might have some type of bad material in it.

I've had the same problem with their interior green. You can add a little alcohol to it and mix well. The alcohol will stop the bubbling when you paint. Don't get rid of it, you can still airbrush it with no problem, just add a little alcohol first.

I use MM acryls too, and I've noticed the same bubbling, but that usually happens if I haven't stirred them for awhile.  Once I dig down and get all the pigment scraped out of the corners the bubbles go away.  I've never found that shaking gives adequate mixing (even with BB's in the bottle), and I always end up stirring.

Shaking introduces air into the paint, hence the bubbles. Stirring is the best method to use.

I dropped 8 bucks for a Testors battery operated paint stirring device. It looks like one of those mini blenders that you might see a "Martha Stewart" use to mix small quantities of liquids during the preparation of a meal. Works GREAT!

I never need to shake & the lids stay relatively clean.

Some of the best $8 I've ever spent!!

Let me tell you the best advice you will get all day. This thing literally changed how I paint.

 

 

Its about 8 bucks and its really amazing. I never realized how much I needed one until I got it. I mix every paint I open, then put it in a thing of water and clean it.. done. The way it gets all the paint thorough and consistent. Trust me, its the best tool you will buy all year.
